1996 - ZONA DE ARTE
El arte milenario y la realidad de cada tiempo y lugar tienen sus propias reglas. Los íconos eternos versus los sucesos de la vida real. Posible objetivo: La permanencia del arte y la transitoriedad del presente histórico, belleza, violencia, identidad, el rol del artista en la sociedad, compromiso, indiferencia.
Performance realizada en "Fin de Semana de la Acción" organizada por la Alianza Francesa y la Fundación de Arte Contemporáneo en Montevideo, Uruguay, 23 de Julio de 1999. El artista se dirige a la Zona de Arte en tanto se escucha a Erik Satie. El artista se dispone como el icono de da Vinci en la Zona de Arte. El artista se va y deja a los espectadores escuchando fragmentos de "Un golpe de Dados..." de Mallarmé. Apenas concluyen los versos se escucha una sirena y algunos disparos. Bajo los compases de Freedom de Rage Against the Machine. Luego de algunos segundos de silencio aparece el artista arrastrándose a la Zona de Arte. Un ser de la realidad emerge visiblemente herido...Herido de muerte, confronta al arte mundano con la dura realidad de cada día ¿Podría el arte ayudarle a sobrellevar una vida de necesidades, una vida sin horizontes? Una vez más, el "blanco" cobra su víctima...finalmente, el trasgresor, destruído por el sistema, muere conmovedoramente con una flor entre sus dedos.
1999 - ART ZONE
The millennial art and the reality of each time and place have their own regulations. The eternall icons verus the goings of the royal life. Possible targets: the standing of art and the transitory of historic present, beauty, violence, identity, role of artist in society, commitment, indifference, etc.
Performed in the "Weekend of the Action", organized by the French Alliance and the Art Contemporary Foundation, Montevideo, Uruguay, July 23, 1999. The artist goes to the ZONE while Gymnopédies of Erik Satie is heard. The artist is provided like the Leonardo da Vinci's icon in the Art Zone. Finnally, the artist move back and leave to spectators listening fragments of "Un Coup de Des..." by Mallarmé. Upon concluding the verses, a siren of police and some shootings are listened. Under the compass of FREEDOM of Rage Against the Machine, the being of the dialy reality emerges, visibly wounded...Wonded of death, he confronts to the worldly art with the hard reality of every days...Could ART help him to support a life of needs, without horizons...? Once more, the "target" collect his victim...Finally, the transgressor, harassed by the system, die gripping the flower between his fingers.
